The mountain trail to get to the mission is about 15 miles long and can be very muddy and rocky. Each rain storm can alter the conditions and create constant problems. The mission has been working with a boss who also hires up to 6 people to work with him daily. They use wheelbarrows, sledge hammers, picks, and shovels to repair and maintain the road. They not only try to keep it somewhat smooth and flat but create water diversion ditches to try to control the erosion as much as possible. It is a constant battle but does make a difference and also provides a lot a work opportunity for the locals. Even though its is hard work there are lots a willing workers.
